FAQs

There are very many ways that

Are your water treatment systems effective?

Absolutely. Independently proven efficiency equal to water softeners, and have double the efficiency of electro-magnets, electrolytic scale preventers and electric water conditioners when tested in exactly the same water conditions. TAC is the only proven no salt technology to achieve 99.6% effectiveness when tested to the German DVGW protocol.

Why doesn't it require salt?

Our units use Template Assisted Crystallisation (TAC), which results in the creation of microscopic crystals of scale (seed crystals) which rapidly form in the treated water, not on the contact surfaces of the water system, and are carried downstream in colloidal suspension through the water system. There is simply no need to replace the Calcium ions with Sodium from the salt. This means a considerable saving in buying bulk salt tablets and the inconvenience of transportation and refilling, and no brine discharge into the environment..

Is an electrical point required?

No. Unlike traditional salt-based water softeners that need to regenerate the resin, our units do not require electricity at all.

Is it easy to install?

Yes, without the need for a brine discharge water pipe, our systems need no secondary plumbing or electrical connection. Installation quick and easy. The unit is simply connected inline with your cold water mains pipe to treat the water for the whole home. This is a very straightforward installation for any plumber if you do not feel up to the task yourself.

Is the water good to drink?

Yes it is. Unlike water softeners for which it is recommended to have a separate tap to provide unsoftened drinking water, our systems are not just drinkable from any tap but are greatly improved. The carbon filter removes impurities in the water including sediment, chemicals and heavy metals leaving deliciously fresh and clean filtered water throughout the home.

What are the on-going costs?

Quite minimal. The carbon filter will ideally need replacing every 6 months but this is dependent upon local water conditions. Carbon filters have different capacities and can be up to 1 year or 186,000 litres. The TAC elements of the different systems have recommended changes after 24 or 36 months. Information on maintenance is given with each system.
